Class 24 – The First Wave

Over the last few months, as some of you will be aware, we have been developing a range of ready to roll locos using our newly designed chassis, the first of these being our Class 24/0 as pictured below. Our aim with this project is to make available a range of models that can be used immediately on delivery and only require painting to your preferred livery style. The 24 represents the first production run of this chassis, all of our forthcoming chassis will utilise the standard design as set out in this loco, features include:

  • 8 Wheel Drive & Pickup
  • Scale Wheelbases
  • Central Motor
  • Weighted Chassis (For high Haulage Capabilities)

The Class 24 pictured below represents the Ready To Roll finished article which will be priced at £165 including insured delivery by Royal Mail to UK mainland.

Our first batch of 10 RTR Class 24s are now available for pre-order for delivery early October, orders will be taken on a first come first serve basis for this run, to pre-order please contact: help@lincoln-loco.co.uk

As we move forward with production across our range, we will make available chassis only solutions to cater for anyone who wants to fit a chassis to a body already purchased from us, this will become the second stage of production due to differences between classes and the specific parts required to complete.

Finally, thank you to those who have kindly tested our chassis and allowed us to get many many hours of running time in across multiple layouts, with a special thank you to Dave Bates for supplying us with a vast amount of details on the Class 24 & 25 and Garry Hall for his amazing videos showcasing the 24 in action, if you haven’t seen these yet, we have them linked below.

  1. This is a fantastic achievement, Lenny and Jamie are to be congratulated. The bodies have always been very good and now a lovely smooth power unit for the diesels is the icing on the cake.

  5. Mine has arrived and looks superb, looking forward to getting out to the garage and giving it a run, with all that weight I suspect I will struggle to put a capacity load behind it.

  6. Further to my last comment I have now been able to give it a run out and as I suspected it is probably more powerful than the prototype. I hung 13 bogie coaches on the drawhook and it romped away at the same rate as when running light, magnificent achievement Lenny, I can’t wait for the chassis for my baby deltic and class 37’s to become available.

  7. I wanted to fit the new 24 chassis to an old 25 I had which was a resin moulded body and not a 3D printed one. They were slightly different so with a little mod at each end it is just as sweet as the 24. Thanks Lenny, these chassis’s are so smooth and quiet.
